Elizabeth Baron, Ford’s VR & Advanced Visualization Tech Specialist, will be one of the featured speakers at the third annual Florida Simulation Summit later this week. Ms. Baron is a virtual reality expert whose duties at Ford include providing virtual reality systems for use in design and development. She’s held her current position at Ford Motor Company for more than 14 years.
The Florida Simulation Summit, held every year in Orlando since 2015, focuses on how virtual reality and simulation technologies have helped transform industries ranging from transportation, to medical, to architecture. Orlando makes for an appropriate venue for the summit partly because of the presence of institutions like the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University, and others that offer educational programs in VR, simulation, and gaming. The city is also home to the National Center for Simulation – a non-profit association created to help spur the development, understanding, and advancement of simulation technologies.
Other speakers at the event will include persons from Walt Disney World, Luminar Technologies, and the University of Central Florida.
“Virtual and augmented reality technology can help grow our diverse local industry sectors in new and exciting directions,” says National Center for Simulation President and CEO Tom Baptiste.
