Ford’s Dedicated Ad Agency Selects A New Global Creative Chief

Advertising/PR outfit WPP’s dedicated Ford ad agency, Go Team Blue (formerly “Team Detroit”), has selected a new Global Chief Creative Officer as Ford faces an industry-wide sales slowdown. Tito Melega, an Argentina native with seventeen years of experience in advertising for US auto brands, officially starts in his new role with GTB Monday, September 11th.

Before joining GTB, Melega led his own advertising consultancy, with contracts both within and without the automotive industry. Before that, he was a creative lead for TBWA\Chiat\Day handling Nissan’s North American advertising, and even earlier in his career, he led Mitsubishi at BBDO.

What makes Melega especially well-suited to lead advertising for Ford – apart from his nearly-two-decades of experience – is a particular liking for the American auto company, nurtured in part by his father’s old 1960s Ford Falcon. “The Ford brand is iconic, and I’m excited to be part of a team that pushes it successfully into the future,” he says of his new role with GTB.

“We’re very excited to have Tito on board,” says GTB Global Chief Operations Officer Kim Brink. “His work speaks for itself, and he’s a complete creative in every sense. We aim to do the best for our client, and Tito is proof of that ongoing commitment.”
