CJ Pony Parts’ Trail-Hungry Ford F-150 Won’t Retire After SEMA 2017

On Monday, we took a look at the thoroughly-modified 2018 Ford F-150 that CJ Pony Parts put together for exhibition at this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association Show. Distinguished by its ReadyLIFT 7-inch lift kit, its Quicksand paint with matte-black graphics and bright orange highlights, and its breadth of aftermarket lighting upgrades, CJ Pony Parts’ 2018 Ford F-150 was built to hold tremendous presence on the street, and to deliver epic off-road capability.

And that isn’t just theoretical; CJ Pony Parts says it plans on using this Ford F-150 in future videos, touring shows and off-roading events, and more.

“This won’t be a SEMA Build that will live out the rest of its days in a garage under a cover that slowly makes its way outside on sunny days,” the company writes. “We have full intention of using this F-150 as it was intended – whether that’s towing Project 50/30 or our SEMA Mustang to Mustang Week 2018 or unhooking the trailer and tackling the trails wherever they may lead.”

The truck, powered by Ford’s range-topping 3.5L EcoBoost V6 with a 10-speed automatic, looks every bit as radical as it sounds from the parts list. The video above gives us a behind-the-scenes look at some of the planning and execution of this bold custom SEMA build.
