UTI Is Bringing This Slammed, ‘Pennzoil Yellow’ Ford Focus RS To SEMA 2017

Universal Technical Institute is heading to the 2017 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show at the end of the month with a custom one-off vehicle to put on display: a lowered 2017 Ford Focus RS with a “Pennzoil Yellow” paint job and a host of performance upgrades.

Sprung by BC Racing coilovers, this Ford Focus RS from UTI appears to be riding a fair bit lower than stock, the aftermarket, 19-inch Rotiform wheels and Falken FK150 tires tucking neatly into the fender flares without an inch to spare. The attention-grabbing Pennzoil Yellow paint comes from Axalta, and carbon-fiber body accessories from Anderson Composite further distinguish the exterior.

Inside, there’s more carbon fiber to be found, in the form of a carbon-fiber shift knob, instrument cluster, and window switch cover, all of which come from Ford’s accessories catalog. In addition, the cabin also features Kicker audio components, delivering an enhanced listening experience for passengers.

The factory 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine in this one-off Ford Focus RS is emboldened by a Ford Performance exhaust, and an intake, intercooler, and piping from Full-Race Motorsports. A Ford Performance short-throw shifter keeps gear changes quick and tidy, and the factory battery has been changed out in favor of a more robust Optima unit. Six-piston Baer brake calipers and Baer rotors provide stopping power.

The 2017 SEMA Show will run from October 31st through November 3rd at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Stay tuned for more fresh SEMA news.
