Sales types:
- Cumulative Ford Motor Company sales, which consist of Ford and Lincoln sales, increased 6.2 percent to 200,436 units:
- Retail sales increased 3.5 percent to 148,105 vehicles
- Fleet sales, including daily rental, commercial and government segments, increased 14.6 percent to 52,331 units due to order timing. Fleet sales accounted for 26.1 percent of total sales, up 1.9 percentage points:
- Daily rental deliveries accounted for 7.1 percent of total sales, up 0.2 percentage points
- Commercial deliveries accounted for 12.4 percent of total sales, up 1.1 percentage points
- Government deliveries accounted for 6.6 percent of total sales, up 0.6 percentage points
- Car sales decreased 2.4 percent to 43,849 units
- Truck sales increased 11.4 percent to 93,248 units
- SUV sales increased 5.3 percent to 63,339 units
Average Transaction Prices (ATPs):
- Ford Motor Company did not disclose ATPs for October but did report a $4,000 increase in F-Series ATPs versus last year to $47,300 due to strong demand for high series F-150 trucks and continued strong demand for high series F-Series Super Duty.
Inventory:
- October month-end inventory on a gross stock level, which includes in-transit and dealer stock, was 636,907 units for a 79 days supply, representing:
- A decrease of 4,180 units from the 135,471 units at the end of September 2017
- An increase of 4 days from the 71 days supply at the end of September 2017
- A decrease of 14,036 units from the 145,337 units at the end of October 2016
- A decrease of 9 days from the 84 days supply at the end of October 2017
- October month-end inventory on the ground, which consists exclusively of vehicles in dealer stock, was 521,408 units for a 65 days supply, representing:
- An increase of 7,570 units from the 513,838 units at the end of September 2017
- An increase of 5 days from the 60 days supply at the end of September 2017
- A decrease of 44,062 units from the 565,470 units at the end of October 2016
- A decrease of 13 days from the 78 days supply at the end of October 2016
Ford sales increased 6.56 percent to 191,527 units:
- Ford C-Max sales increased 71.41 percent to 1,661 units
- Ford E-Series sales decreased 7.12 percent to 4,265 units
- Ford Edge sales increased 36.86 percent to 11,036 units, representing the model’s best October sales performance since its first year on the market in 2007
- Ford Escape sales decreased 1.88 percent to 23,064 units
- Ford Expedition sales decreased 46.72 percent to 2,074 units
- Ford Explorer sales increased 5.02 percent to 16,914 units; retail sales increased 13.1 percent
- The strongest retail growth came from the Central and Southeastern regions, which saw retail sales grow 31.1 and 34.0 percent, respectively
- Ford F-Series sales increased 15.92 percent to 75,974 units, its best October sales performance since 2004
- Continued strong customer demand for high series Super Duty increased its Average Transaction Price (ATP) to $55,200, a $1,600 gain year-over-year
- Ford Fiesta sales increased 1.09 percent to 3,418 units
- Ford Flex sales increased 91.56 percent to 2,042 units
- Ford Focus sales increased 7.76 percent to 10,095 units; Focus performance models including the Focus ST and RS, increased 42.3 percent
- Ford Fusion sales decreased 6.15 percent to 17,536 units
- Ford GT sales totaled 15 units
- Ford Heavy Trucks sales decreased 34.17 percent to 738 units
- Ford Mustang sales decreased 3.29 percent to 5,236 units
- Ford Police Interceptor Sedan sales decreased 26.26 percent to 584 units
- Ford Police Interceptor Utility sales increased 0.64 percent to 2,507 units
- Ford Taurus sales decreased 8.31 percent to 2,097 units
- Ford Transit sales increased 0.86 percent to 10,290 units
- Ford Transit Connect sales decreased 12.54 percent to 1,981 units
- Ford brand SUV sales increased 4.6 percent to 57,637 vehicles, including a 9 percent increase at retail
Lincoln sales decreased 1.76 percent to 8,909 units:
- Lincoln Continental sales decreased 18.49 percent to 996 units
- Lincoln MKC sales increased 10.33 percent to 2,114 units
- Lincoln MKS sales totaled 0 units as the model has been discontinued and replaced by the Lincoln Continental
- Lincoln MKT sales decreased 0 percent to 248 units
- Lincoln MKX sales increased 17.77 percent to 2,684 units, its best October sales performance since its first year of launch in 2007
- Lincoln MKZ sales decreased 10.88 percent to 2,211 units
- Lincoln Navigator sales increased 9.7 percent to 656 units
- Lincoln SUV sales increased 13.1 percent
