Roush Performance Unleashes Ford Mustang Active Exhaust, Cold-Air Intakes

As it did with the pre-facelift Ford Mustang S550 in GT trim, Roush Performance has introduced an Active Exhaust Kit for the new-and-improved 2018 Ford Mustang with 5.0-liter Coyote V8, giving owners an aftermarket option for a customizable exhaust note. The system, wearing an MSRP of $2,699.99, fits both fastback and convertible variants of the 2018 Ford Mustang GT, and comes with a selector switch for choosing between any of the three preloaded and one user-customizable modes.

Roush’s Active Exhaust Kit for the Mustang GT is made from mandrel-bent T-304 stainless steal, and features dual high-flow mufflers and four 4-inch tips. Three preloaded exhaust modes – Touring, Sport, and Track – offer different sound levels to suit almost any mood, with internal valves controlling the flow of exhaust gases through the mufflers. A fourth “Custom” mode allows the user to program his or her own noise profile using an iOS application with a WiFi OBDII interface.

In addition, Roush Performance has announced that cold-air intake kits are now available for the refreshed, 2018 Ford Mustang GT and Mustang EcoBoost. Each is designed to optimize the flow of intake air to the engine, improving throttle response, and increasing performance and intake noise with no tuning required. The kits carry a suggested retail price of $409.99, and include reusable dry cone air filters with two layers of wire mesh for durability.
