The Ford Authority Take
It would appear that the all-new 2018 Expedition is still building up inventories at the retail/dealer level that would be sufficient enough to post a year-over-year gain in volumes. Notably, the all-new model is showing very promising results that we believe have the potential to continue well into the future.
However, GM is in the process of redesigning its full-size SUVs, which have been dominating full-size SUV segment sales for the past decade. The all-new 2020 Tahoe, 2020 Suburban and 2020 GMC Yukon are will be overhauled and are expected to launch within the next year, thereby delivering stiff competition to the new Expedition.
