Ford Brand U.S. Sales Increase 1 Percent To 233,069 Units In May 2018

FoMoCo’s Ford brand reported 233,069 new vehicle deliveries in May 2018 in the United States, an increase of 1 percent compared to May 2017.

Sales on an individual model basis were as follows:

  • Ford C-Max sales decreased 45.85 percent to 991 units
  • Ford E-Series sales decreased 27.5 percent to 3,907 units
  • Ford EcoSport sales totaled 5,481 units
    • Retail sales increased 65 percent
  • Ford Edge sales decreased 10.33 percent to 12,332 units
  • Ford Escape sales decreased 3.01 percent to 26,993 units
  • Ford Expedition sales decreased 9.29 percent to 5,223 units as inventories continue to improve
    • Retail sales increased 41.8 percent
    • Expedition is averaging just 19 days on dealer lots
    • Average Transaction Prices grew $12,300 over the last year to $61,400
    • May sales gains came from every region
  • Ford Explorer sales decreased 14.29 percent to 19,470 units
  • Ford F-Series sales increased 11.33 percent to 84,639 units, representing the nameplate’s best May performance since 2000
    • The results mark 13 consecutive months of year-over-year gains
    • Ford F-Series has broken through the 80,000 mark four times over the last 9 months, a claim no other full-size truck maker can make. This comes with a $1,400 gain in average transaction pricing for the month.
  • Ford Fiesta sales increased 22.22 percent to 5,110 units
  • Ford Flex sales decreased 12.23 percent to 1,701 units
  • Ford Focus sales decreased 6.38 percent to 16,144 units
  • Ford Fusion sales decreased 29.39 percent to 15,253 units
  • Ford GT sales increased 20 percent to 6 units
  • Ford Heavy Trucks sales increased 48.06 percent to 1,297 units
  • Ford Mustang sales increased 10.69 percent to 8,739 units as the spring selling season heated up, representing a strong start to the sports car-selling season
    • Mustang remains the best-selling sports car both in the U.S. and globally – a lead it has held since first going global three years ago
  • Ford Police Interceptor Sedan sales decreased 8.61 percent to 828 units
  • Ford Police Interceptor Utility sales increased 9.91 percent to 3,206 units
  • Ford Taurus sales decreased 1.32 percent to 2,987 units
  • Ford Transit sales increased 12.4 percent to 15,513 units, representing its best monthly sales performance since launching in 2014
  • Ford Transit Connect sales increased 3.34 percent to 3,249 units

In the first five months of 2018, Ford sales decreased 2 percent to 1,006,321 units.
