Ford Motor Company reported 230,635 new vehicle deliveries for June 2018 in the U.S. market, a 1.2 percent increase compared to June 2017. Sales increased at both of FoMoCo’s brands – Ford and Lincoln.
“As leaders in truck and SUV sales, the Ford brand had an incredible first half with almost 1 million sold. F-Series has posted gains for 14 consecutive months, while Ford SUVs posted a new record June sales month and Transit sales gain 25 percent,” said Mark LaNeve Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Our all-new Lincoln Navigator continues as the hottest new product in the country, with triple-digit gains in the first half.”
The ongoing industry shift to trucks and SUVs continues playing into FoMoCo’s strengths, as Ford trucks, SUVs, commercial vehicles and Lincoln all posted gains for the month.

Sales types:
- Cumulative Ford Motor Company sales, which consist of Ford and Lincoln sales, increased 1.2 percent to 230,735 units:
- Retail sales increased 2.9 percent or 4,392 units to 156,788 vehicles, accounting for 68 percent of total Ford Motor Company June 2018 sales
- Fleet sales, including daily rental, commercial and government segments, decreased 2.3 percent or 1,736 units to 73,847 units, accounting for 32 percent of total Ford Motor Company June 2018 sales:
- Daily rental deliveries accounted for 12.8 percent of total sales, a decrease of 5 percent
- Commercial deliveries accounted for 13.3 percent of total sales, an increase of 6 percent
- Government deliveries accounted for 6.0 percent of total sales, a decrease of 1.3 percent
- Car sales decreased 14 percent to 45,335 units
- SUV sales increased 8.9 percent to 84,617 units
- Truck sales increased 3.2 percent to 100,683 units
Average Transaction Prices (ATPs):
- Overall transaction prices increased $540 in June
Inventory:
- June month-end inventory on a gross stock level, which includes in-transit and dealer stock, was 665,004 units for a 78 days supply, representing:
- A decrease of 13,392 units from the 678,396 units at the end of May 2018
- An increase of 5 days from the 73 supply at the end of May 2018
- A decrease of 31,270 units from the 696,274 units at the end of June 2017
- A decrease of 1 days from the 79 days supply at the end of June 2017
- June month-end inventory on the ground, which consists exclusively of vehicles in dealer stock, was 525,369 units for a 62 days supply, representing:
- A decrease of 43,047 units from the 568,416 units at the end of May 2018
- An increase of 1 days from the 61 days supply at the end of May 2018
- A decrease of 54,482 units from the 579,851 units at the end of June 2017
- A decrease of 4 days from the 66 days supply at the end of June 2017
Ford sales increased 1.1 percent to 221,101 units:
- Ford C-Max sales decreased 55.99 percent to 837 units
- Ford E-Series sales decreased 24.78 percent to 3,724 units
- Ford EcoSport sales totaled 6,756 units, representing its best month since launch
- EcoSport sales increased 23.3 percent over May
- Ford Edge sales decreased 11.85 percent to 11,822 units
- Ford Escape sales increased 6.45 percent to 28,901 units
- Ford Expedition sales increased 10.08 percent to 5,285 units
- Expedition retail sales increased 20.7 percent in June
- The “highly profitable all-new Ford Expedition” saw retail sales gain 37.3 percent in the first half of the year
- Ford Explorer sales decreased 9.36 percent to 19,310 units
- Ford F-Series sales increased 1.68 percent to 79,204 units, marking the 14th consecutive month of year-over-year gains
- F-Series sales increased 4.1 percent to 939,511 units, with transaction prices higher than any other full-size pickup manufacturer at $46,800
- Ford Fiesta sales increased 19.23 percent to 4,800 units
- Ford Flex sales increased 15.36 percent to 2,328 units
- Ford Focus sales decreased 29.95 percent to 10,910 units
- Ford Fusion sales decreased 13.57 percent to 15,678 units
- Ford GT sales increased 22.22 percent to 11 units
- Ford Heavy Trucks sales increased 35.06 percent to 1,098 units
- Ford Mustang sales increased 19.62 percent to 7,400 units
- The EcoBoost model accounts for about 45 percent of sales, with the rest made up by the legendary 5.0L Coyote V8
- Ford Police Interceptor Sedan sales decreased 13.1 percent to 637 units
- Ford Police Interceptor Utility sales increased 2.35 percent to 3,051 units
- Ford Taurus sales decreased 8.19 percent to 2,692 units
- Ford Transit sales increased 25 percent to 13,533 units
- Ford Transit Connect sales increased 2.39 percent to 3,124 units
- Overall Ford brand SUV sales totaled 77,453 units in June, a new June record
- Overall Ford brand van sales increased 8.2 percent to 20,381 units in June
Lincoln sales increased 2.8 percent to 9,534 units:
- Lincoln Continental sales decreased 43.88 percent to 546 units
- Lincoln MKC sales increased 24 percent to 2,857 units
- Lincoln MKT sales decreased 25.78 percent to 213 units
- Lincoln MKX sales decreased 1.25 percent to 2,444 units
- Lincoln MKZ sales decreased 18.57 percent to 1,824 units
- Lincoln Navigator sales increased 68.37 percent to 1,650 units
- Retail sales of the all-new Lincoln Navigator increased 119.7 percent in June and 115.5 percent in the first half of the year
- Lincoln is seeing strongest demand for the Navigator’s most exclusive trim levels, with 80 percent of the retail mix coming from Reserve and Black Label, delivering a $27,000 increase in transaction pricing
In the first six months of 2018, Ford Motor Company sales decreased 1.8 percent to 1,277,691 units.

it’s great to see that focus and fiesta sales are up. maybe ford will rethink their decision about axing most of the car lines. And the fusion is still their best selling car .
Looks like the EcoSport sales continue to climb. It’s also outselling the Hyundai Kona and Toyota C-HR. Perhaps its taller SUV proportions are making it more popular than its lower more car-like rivals.
