2018 Ford F-150: Roush Announces 650 HP Phase 1 Supercharger Kit

After thousands of hours in research and testing, Roush Performance has released their new supercharger kit available for the 2018 Ford F-150 equipped with the 5.0L Coyote V8. This whopping 2.65L supercharger designed for performance and dependability takes the new F-150 to a whole new level, and new levels of supercharger whine.

The 2018 Phase 1 Supercharger Kit is also a jump in power from the previous iteration for the 2015-2017 F-150 V8, which came in at 600 hp. For the F-150 refresh, Roush uncorked an additional 255 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque from stock, boosting the truck to 650hp and 610 lb-ft of torque. The output mirrors what was effectively a Phase 2 upgrade from before, but as the entry level augmentation.

Unlike turbocharging, this Phase 1 Supercharger gives drivers instant throttle response and increased power through the engine’s entire power band. A part of the TVS (Twin Vortices Series), Roush has been creating this kit for years, integrating it with both the Mustang and F-150 models with the 5.0L V8.

The fully integrated kit for the 2018 Ford F-150 can be purchased on the Roush Performance website for a hefty $7,800. Lots of power means lots of money, but does come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. Is the extra 255 hp worth the price? That is up for you to decide.

In the meantime, check out our review of a Roush F-150 complete with a lift and Phase 1 upgrade.
