Ford Europe Advert Shows The Ranger Raptor Ripping Through A Quarry: Ad Break

Ford’s European arm seems to have taken inspiration from Ken Block’s Gymkhana video series with an advertisement for the new Ford Ranger Raptor, which was just this week officially confirmed for a European-market release. The ad depicts Ford’s capable new pickup out-muscling bikers on the road, flying down an unpaved path, and doing decidedly Gymkhana-esque things in a quarry as a few sandrails and dirt bikes give chase.

Oh, and not to spoil it, but it ends with a bang – literally.

When announced nearly a year ago, the Ford Ranger Raptor was confirmed only for markets within the Asia Pacific region, including Australia. The truck’s impending European release was announced on Tuesday at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany, and its appearance there marked the first automotive debut to take place at the show. With that market confirmed, it’s still unknown whether or not the high-performance Ford Ranger Raptor will make its way to the North American market, but if we were betting people, we’d put our money on the affirmative.

Beside the Ford Ranger Raptor and the F-150 Raptor, there are a few other off-road-oriented vehicles on the way from Ford Motor Company, including the Ranger-based Ford Bronco SUV and a small, yet-unnamed crossover that’s been given the nickname “baby Bronco”. With vehicles such as these, Ford is fixing “to reclaim [its] rightful place as the off-road vehicle leader,” in the words of Ford President of Global Markets Jim Farley.
