Time Is Running Out To Buy This 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 Race Car

Earlier this month, we reported about a crazy-rare 1986 Ford RS200 for sale on Bring A Trailer which ended up selling for $280,000. We’ve found another classic Ford on BaT, and this time it’s a fully-prepped racecar. Check out this 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 for sale. At the time that this is being written the high bid is $135,000 with five days remaining in the auction.

According to BaT, this ’65 Shelby GT350 was sold new at Archway Motors in Baltimore, Maryland and then converted into an SCCA B Production vintage race car. The conversion took place in the 1980s and was registered as serial No. SFM5S471 with the Shelby American Automobile Club.

Under the hood, there is a rebuilt 293 cubic-inch SBF V8 driven through a 4-speed Jerico transmission. Out back is a 4.11 Detroit Locker rear axle.

This Shelby GT350 is painted sapphire blue with white stripes and equipped with an R-model type front apron and Torq Thrust wheels. The 15-inch Torq Thrust D wheels are wrapped in Hoosier TDs measuring 8.5 inches and 9.5 inches in width. A second set of wheels is also included in the sale. Braking is handled with 12-inch vented front discs from Coleman Racing and 10.5-inch rear drums.

Safety and competition equipment include a full roll cage, triple-disc clutch, upgraded suspension, a Halon fire-suppression system, and a Fuel Safe fuel cell. The current seller has owned the car since 2003, driving the car between 2004 and 2013 with an average of three events per year. The seller has since retired from racing, hence placing this Shelby GT350 for sale.

There isn’t a lot of time left to snatch up this killer vintage racecar. There might not be another Shelby GT350 like this available for sale anytime soon, so don’t miss out. We’d purchase it ourselves, but, you know… it’s not gonna be cheap.
