Vaughn Gittin Jr. Drifts A Cloverleaf In His 900 HP Ford Mustang RTR: Video

We’ve already seen how Ford celebrated St. Patricks’s Day, and now you can watch how pro drifter Vaughn Gittin Jr. used his skills (and maybe some luck) to bring in the holiday, taking his 900 horsepower Ford Mustang RTR around a cloverleaf interchange in Lake Worth, Texas.

In this video Vaughn Gittin Jr. drives the same Ford Mustang RTR he drifted around the Nurburgring, but this time it’s very green, and yes, the road was closed down for safety thanks to local officials. And yes, there was lots and lots of tire smoke.

“Entering a cloverleaf at maximum attack is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Vaughn Gittin Jr., “there was nothing like the sound of the 5.0 revving out under the overpass portion as it echoed every which way.” Perhaps the coolest image from the sub-two minute film is the above shot of the completed four leaf clover just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.

While we are mostly jealous of this stunt, we have to applaud Gittin Jr. for his efforts and skill behind the wheel of such a monstrous vehicle. It’s worth noting that if you watch the video a few times over, it doesn’t appear that it took him more than few tries. Much of the road looks free of tire tread prior to the Ford Mustang ripping by, which indicates to us that it may have only take one or two tries.

“It was just the right amount of sketchiness and fun together… and quite a bit more challenging than I had expected linking it all together. And doing it at night made it that much more intense.”
