2005 Ford GT Camilo Custom Build For Sale

The first-generation 2005 Ford GT is already a very rare and valuable car just as it came from the factory. This particular 2005 Ford GT is something even rarer. It’s a one-of-a-kind 2005 Ford GT known as Merkury 4, a bespoke heritage model. The car started life as a three-option, solid red Ford GT and went straight from Detroit to Camilo Pardo, the chief designer of the 2002 concept Ford GT and the 2005 and 2006 production Ford GT cars.

Merkury 4 is the third of eight Camilo Signature Series cars. This model has a chemically bonded Mirrachrome paint job that took a year to complete. The paint looks a bit like silver with fluorescent orange trim Gulf livery. Other than the very cool paint job, the car also has a second-generation Whipple supercharger and GTG cold air intake kit to increase power for the car to 725 horsepower at the rear wheels via 19 pounds of boost on a conservative 91 octane tune.

The car has a GTG Vintage bumper delete kit that relocates the exhaust between the tail lamps like the original Mark II car had. The exhaust system is a ceramic-coated Ford Racing unit, and the car has HRE center lock wheels with Michelin tires. To improve handling, Merkury 4 has Penske triple adjustable shocks with a custom alignment.

The car also has twin sill badges to commemorate the build. The 2005 Ford GT has only 4,000 miles on it and was always stored in a climate controlled garage. It ships with all original books, two sets of keys, all records, and photos of the build process. The seller is asking $750,000 and is willing to negotiate. The first-gen Ford GT has an intoxicating exhaust note right from the factory; you can hear it the video here. We can only imagine what Merkury 4 sounds like.
