“Ford v Ferrari” Official Trailer Looks Awesome: Video

The first official trailer for the Ford v Ferrari movie has landed and if you were excited about the flick when we saw the first look images not long ago, be prepared to be beside yourself. The trailer certainly follows along with the promise we heard before that the movie would focus more on the men behind the scenes building the car than the racing action, but the trailer does show at least a little of that racing action.

Ford v Ferrari will be one of the biggest movies for car guys and gals to land in 2019; it is set to hit theaters on November 15. The trailer shows little glimpses of the entire build process from the conception of the project, to the construction, to the testing of the famous GT40.

Ford and Ferrari had one of the fiercest rivalries in the automotive world in the ’60s. The rivalry stemmed from Ford trying to buy Ferrari, and after having made it much of the way through the process, Enzo Ferrari sent Ford packing after learning Ferrari wouldn’t be allowed to keep its racing team.

This angered Ford, and the mandate was made to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To do so required Ford to build a car and an entire team to pull it off. The work certainly paid off with Ford sweeping the top three spots in the 1966 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ford v Ferrari stars Christian Bale as Ken Miles, Matt Damon as Carroll Shelby, and John Bernthal as Lee Iacocca. The movie hasn’t hit theaters yet, and it already has awards buzz.
