2017 And 2018 Ford E-Series Vans Recalled By Upfitter

Some Ford E-Series vans of 2017 and 2018 year models have been recalled, but Ford didn’t issue the recall. The Ford E-Series vans are in the 2017-2018 E-350 and E-450 range. The recall was issued by an upfitter called SVO Group Inc. SVO Group is an upfitter that takes a chassis cab vehicles from Ford and then attaches a body to the Ford E-Series to turn it into a shuttle bus.

The defect: the affected vehicles are fitted with ASA Electronics Voyager monitors to show the backup image from the backup cameras of the van. These monitors can revert to factory settings, possibly causing the camera image to be reversed.

The hazards: if the monitor reverts to factory settings and reverses the image, the driver could potentially turn the wrong way while backing up, increasing the risk of accident or injury.

Affected components: ASA Electroncis Voyager monitors.

Affected vehicles: 2017-2018 Ford E-350 and E-450 based shuttle vans with the ASA Electronics Voyager monitor installed.

Number of vehicles affected: 52 units

The fix: ASA will provide a harness relay capacitor module to eliminate image reversal at no cost. ASA has offered no notification schedule at this time.

Owners should: contact ASA Electronics customer service.
