The Ford Authority Take

Ford Korea sales again showed a decrease in June 2019, just like each of the first five months in 2019. However, the 29 percent drop in June sales is the biggest one so far this year. In fact, May was the only month of the year that the decrease in Ford Korea sale did not reach two digits.

The downward trend in Ford Korea sales is a direct result of the automaker decreasing the amount of vehicles it offers in the country. While last year, Ford offered five models in South Korea, it now only offers two – the Explorer and Mustang. The circumstance is a rather strange turn of events. Despite the negative overall result, the sales of the pony car stand out for having increased both in June and year-to-date 2019. Meanwhile, The Blue Oval is currently launching the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer, a model that should help it significantly in all markets, including Korea, once it launches there.
