Ford Performance has announced that it has moved its pavement-based operations of the Ford Performance Racing School to Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. The off-road programs that Ford operates are based in Tooele, Utah. The school plans to conduct the just launched ST SUV Experience owner program in satellite locations in Ashville, NC and Park City, UT.
Ford Performance Racing School chose Charlotte Motor Speedway for its HQ to better serve performance vehicle owners and driving enthusiasts east of the Mississippi River. The track has diverse facilities to support a variety of driving experiences.
Ford Performance Racing School will use the infield road course, the oval itself, and the zMAX dragway with its unique four-vehicle-wide configuration. The school notes that the many buildings on-site provide Ford Performance Racing School East with an unmatched opportunity to conduct a wide variety of owner programs and retail high-performance driving instruction. GT350 Track Attack and ST Octane Academy programs and retail school programs will be on track in the spring of 2020.
Satellite HQs for the racing school will conduct the ST SUV experiences mentioned before in 2020. Ford Performance Racing School West will host off-road programs starting in 2020. That facility has a 45,000 square-foot HQ building that has offices, classrooms, vehicle maintenance area, and vehicle storage.
Ford Performance Racing School West will capitalize on the high desert environment and mountain trials to deliver a unique experience in the Raptor Assault program. It will also have a dedicated off-road course for showcasing the capabilities of the F-150 Raptor and will be a training ground for Michelin/BFGoodrich. Ford notes that the Explorer ST will join the Edge ST as the featured vehicle of the ST SUV experience.
