When it comes to the 1957 Ford Thunderbird, they all look rather similar, but they aren’t all the same under the hood. The most desirable of all of them and the rarest is the 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-code. The F-code cars were the fastest of the Thunderbird variants thanks to the factory supercharged 312 cubic-inch V8 engine under the hood.
The pink 1957 Ford Thunderbird seen here is one of those rare F-code cars. This T-bird is one of 196 F-code cars produced in 1957 and is one of only five of that number that was produced in Dusk Rose. The car sports a black canvas top and white vinyl interior. The color combination is fantastic looking.
The supercharged 312 cubic-inch V8 is backed with a rare 3-speed racing transmission, and the T-bird has all power accessories deleted to increase performance. Other nice options on this car include Safety package B, fender skirts, turbine-style wheel covers, and whitewall tires. The car also has a Ford 32 NF Power Punch battery under the hood.
The car looks perfect and just as it did when it came out of the factory and has only 57 miles on it since a frame-off restoration was completed. This particular Thunderbird was originally delivered to Talarico Ford in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania on July 22nd, 1957. The car does come with its original 1957 factory invoice.
The asking price for this rare T-bird is high at $280,000, but it is very rare and in perfect condition. If you don’t care about the rare engine or perfect restoration, T-Birds of similar vintage are available for much less money, like this black ’57 we saw for $32,000.
