2019 Shelby GT-S Mustang Rental Car Pricing Revealed

Back in May, we talked about the slick new 2019 Shelby GT-S Mustang that was going to be an exclusive rental car for a company called SIXT. At the time we had all the details on the rental Shelby as far as power and performance went, but we didn’t have details on the price to rent one. That pricing has now surfaced, and honestly, the price isn’t bad as long as you don’t go over the allotted miles.

SIXT will rent the cars from its branches in Las Vegas, LA, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami with rates that fluctuate with demand. The most the 2019 Shelby GT-S Mustang will cost you for 24 hours of playtime will be $250 daily. The gang at Car & Driver got to drive one, and when it took the rental car out, the rate was $177.

SIXT has only 20 of the cars spread out among the branches mentioned previously. With that daily rate, you get to drive for 175 miles. If you go over the allotted miles, it gets expensive quickly. Every mile over 175 miles you drive will cost you 83 cents. I wonder what they charge you if you burn the tires down doing smokey burnouts in the nearest vacant parking lot.

If you missed it back in May, the cars come in black with orange stripes or orange with black stripes. The 5.0-liter V8 that makes 460 horsepower in a normal Mustang GT makes 600 horsepower in the 2019 Shelby GT-S thanks to a supercharger. The cars also have Ford Performance springs and anti-roll bars along with a Borla cat-back exhaust for better sound. The 600 horsepower number seems low for a Mustang GT with a blower; we assume that SIXT went with a very mild tune. A similar Shelby GT makes 700 horsepower with its blower.
