American Muscle Mustang Supercharger Tech Guide

Mustang owners thinking about strapping a blower to their car will have all sorts of questions. Anyone who has been around a Mustang forum knows that the age-old question “what’s the best supercharger for my Mustang” is asked repeatedly. The first few answers are typically “USE THE SEARCH” or “I’m also wondering about this” and the inevitable “You better upgrade your internals first.”

The gang over at American Muscle sells all sorts of Mustang parts to make the car faster and look better. It sells superchargers and has put together a Ford Mustang supercharger tech guide. The tech guide is long and appears comprehensive and covers different year models.

The Mustang supercharger tech guide starts with the basics of a supercharger and the main differences between centrifugal and positive displacement blowers. The Mustang supercharger tech guide also talks about the two main types of positive displacement blowers- roots and twin-screw.

The guide then goes into the pros and cons of a centrifugal supercharger before offering the same pros and cons to a positive displacement type supercharger. The Mustang supercharger tech guide also goes into detail about some components used with some supercharger kits like the intercooler, blow-off valve, and others.

Ford Mustang fans trying to decide between nitrous oxide and a supercharger can read on some pros and cons of that as well. For the 2003 and 2004 Cobra Mustang owners with cars that came with a blower from the factory, the tech guide offers some information for you. The next time you run across some forum noob asking questions about blowers, the American Muscle Mustang supercharger tech guide might be more helpful than just telling the noob to try the search function. Check out this Fox body that has the supercharged V8 out of an SVT Cobra.
