When Ford announced the return of the King Ranch trim for the 2020 Ford Expedition the automaker also announced an updated 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum that brings new premium features to the vehicle. The 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum was updated with 22-inch wheels and new premium finishes.
The interior has leather upgrades including an instrument panel topper wrapped in leather plus front door trim rollover and console rails. The first and second-row seats in the 2020 Ford Expedition Platinum are covered in leather with perforated seat inserts and quilted bolsters. The front seats are multi-contoured with Active Motion, and the steering wheel is wrapped in Wollsdorf leather with Pecan stitching.
Expedition Platinum also gets standard FordPass Connect with 4G LTE WiFi hotspot that supports up to ten mobile devices. The Expedition also includes SYNC 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard on 2020 Expedition with Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Brake Support; Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert; a Lane-Keeping System; rear backup camera with built-in lens washer; and auto high-beam headlamps.
The engine for the 2020 Expedition Platinum is the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost that Ford has been using paired up with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Expedition Platinum can be had on the standard-wheelbase and the MAX extended-wheelbase Expedition. Ford offers the 2020 Expedition in 2×4 and 4×4 drive trains. Tow ratings for the Expedition are up to 9,300 pounds with the Heavy-Duty Trailer Towing Package.
