The son of Chip Ganassi Racing Team UK driver Andy Priaulx, Seb, will race a Mustang GT4 in this weekend’s IMSA Michelin Pilot Series finale at Road Atlanta.

It will mark the first time the 18-year-old has raced in the United States – though it won’t be his first time behind the wheel of the V8 Mustang GT4. He has spent 2019 racing the GT4-spec ‘Stang in the British GT Championship, where he shares the Multimatic Motorsports-run car with Canadian racer Scott Maxwell. The pair have had a successful 2019 campaign, finishing second in the overall GT4 standings in the series after finishing on the podium in the recent season finale at Donington Park last month. The pair also took two GT4 class wins this year.

He will share the Mustang GT4 with NASCAR racer Austin Cindric at Road Atlanta – son of Team Penske president Tim Cindric.

“I can’t wait for Road Atlanta!” the 18-year-old said. “I get to race the GT4 Mustang with the NASCAR guys at a track that I have heard so much about. It’s a new challenge for me as I have never even raced in the U.S. before.”

“It’s an exciting challenge and I hope I can do a great job for everyone at Multimatic,” he added.

Priaulx’s father Andy is a well-known racer in his home country of England, having won the BTCC championship three years in a row in 2004, 2005 and 2006 with BMW. Since 2016, Andy has lent his talents to Chip Ganassi Racing Team UK, racing the Ford GT alongside fellow Briton Harry Tincknell. Andy also finished second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017, when he shared the Ford GT with Tincknell and Brazilian tin-top ace Pipo Derani.
