Super Clean 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 Vert For Sale

We’ve made no secret of our fondness for the Fox-body Mustang around here. We feature a nice Fox anytime we see one, and today we have run across a very nice one. This car is a 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, and it’s not your run-of-the-mill ’92 vert.

This car is one of the rare Summer Speical edition cars with the rear deck spoiler instead of the faux luggage rack, white top, white wheels, and white leather interior. The special cars also came with body-color side moldings, mirrors, and trim. We talked about a twin to this car back in June, and that one had some yellowing of the white interior.

The car in the images is at Classic Auto Mall is clean with white parts that are much whiter and not yellowed despite having more miles on it. Thie 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 has 53,100 miles on the clock. It has the famed 5.0-liter Ford V8 under the hood, that everyone wanted in the ’90s, backed with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Power goes through an 8.8 inch, 2.73 Trac-Loc rear. The Summer Special Mustangs were what all the high school kids wanted in the day and came in red, yellow, white, and green. No rust or damage is noted anywhere on the car.

The seller says that the car starts, runs, and drives perfectly. Having owned a few Fox-body 5.0 Mustang’s, they always felt like they had more than 225 horsepower underfoot they were rated for. The seller is asking $19,500 for this 1992 Ford Mustang LX 5.0. Each time we see a clean and unmolested Fox, we are surprised at the prices they command today.

  1. The car looks great and has certainly been taken care of. I have an 86 GT red convertible in similar condition that I bought new. I think I’m going to call Hagerty and increase the coverage on it.

  2. I have a 92 just like this except it has an automatic. In it. Only mods to it were to put frame stiffeners in because of the cowl shake.on these. 85,000 miles. Does the addition of the frame stiffeners decrease the value of my car?
