We’ve talked about several Ford Ranger trucks that Ford will have on display at SEMA 2019. The other SEMA Ford Ranger trucks we have talked about include the Hellwig Ranger, which is aimed at overland adventuring. Ford Performance has its own Ranger at the show, and it is also aimed at off-road use.
Back in the day, mini trucks that were lowered to the ground were common, but they are rare today. The Tjin Edition Ford Ranger is a truck that looks like it would be at home in the early ’90s. The Tjin Edition Ford Ranger was designed by Neil and Collin Tjin and has a wide, low stance that is ready to cruise the streets.
The truck uses an air suspension systems and is one of the first of the new-generation Ranger pickups to do so. The Tjin Edition Ford Ranger is lowered 8 inches in the front and 9 inches in the rear. The wheels are custom 20-inch Rotiform LHR-M three-piece units that are shod with Falken tires.
The Ranger has a Roush Performance intake and Ford Performance cat-back exhaust and diff cover. The standard twin-turbo four is fitted with an RPG front-mount intercooler. Brakes are upgraded all around with Baer six-piston calipers and 14-inch rotors front and rear. To up the style of the truck, it’s fitted with RTR fender flares, RTR grille with triangle LEDs, and custom BASF yellow paint.
The bed floor is black with stainless steel hardware and a retractable bed cover from Retrax. The Ranger also has a PowerTank CO2 system, Rigid fog lights, and Lumens bed lights. The interior of the truck features a quartet of Recaro Sportster CS seats that all recline along with Schroth harnesses to keep people planted.
