There were a bunch of trucks at SEMA 2019, and one of the overland-focused rigs at the show was this truck called Altimeter made by Lance Camper. The rig is based on is a Ford F-350 Super Duty with a pickup bed camper. The camper used is the Lance Camper 855S that is good for four-season use and has a slide-out on the side.
The Ford F-350 4×4 is completely tricked out with a 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel engine and all sorts of aftermarket hardware. The truck uses an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 suspension, giving it a 2.5-inch lift. Hellwig Products front and rear sway bars balance the heavy load, and air springs raise the ride height when towing.
To light dark trials and campgrounds, the truck has KC Hilites LED lighting, and a Warn winch up front helps get the truck out of tight spots. The camper itself is a standard Lance Camper 855S truck camper with some custom graphics to match the truck. The slide-out on the side gives it a bench seat dinette. That dinette can be converted into a sleeping area for a capacity of four people.
Something you might not expect to find in a truck bed camper is a full wet bath for keeping clean. The kitchenette offers a three-burner stove, oven, and refrigerator. There was no mention at the show of any production for the camper rig; we suspect it’s just a base to show off the camper the company offers. Speaking of the camper, it sells for around $50,000; add in the price of the base F-350 at roughly another $50,000 depending on options, and this is an expensive rig.
