Lincoln has taken the time to brag on a feature of its 2020 Lincoln Aviator that it didn’t highlight much in the past. In colder weather states where ice on the windshield is common in the mornings and during storms, the act of scraping ice off is a chore that no one wants to deal with. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator has an optional VisioBlade system that helps to clear frost and ice and will prevent the wipers from getting stuck.
The VisioBlade wiper system that is available on the Aviator is designed to keep the windshield free of dirt and build up as well as ice by dispensing wiper fluid through integrated nozzles in the flat blades. The blades also have heating elements that keep them warm. Lincoln says that the design of the blades improves the distribution of washer fluid for more efficient cleaning.
the wipers use 50 percent less fluid than traditional blades and reduce glare and driver obstruction while driving. The blades heat up to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and can defrost the windshield in four minutes compared to 15 minutes using a traditional defroster. Lincoln says that they automatically activate in temperatures below freezing even when the wipers aren’t in use to prevent sticking. They activate in other temperatures when the wipers are on, and the defroster is on.
The flat shape of the blades also helps to keep them smashed against the windshield for more efficient use. The heater elements prevent any ice or sleet build up in winter driving conditions, something many a driver has had to pull over on the side of a busy road to fix. The VisioBlade system is part of the Elements Package Plus. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator recently missed earning the IIHS Top Safety Pick designation.

Sounds like a good feature. But given the history of this car, it’s best to except that they won’t work.
If they work as good as fords quick clear windscreen idea which I have had on my ford then it should be brilliant.
Lincoln and Ford should offer these blades as aftermarket add-on for past models. I know about heated washer fluid but heated blades are new.
