Shelby Super Snake Bold Edition Mixes Bright Colors And Horsepower

Shelby American has been making cool cars going back to the ’60s. It’s modern muscle cars are much more expensive than the cars were back in the day, but they are higher performance for the most part. Shelby recently announced a limited edition run of Shelby Super Snake Mustangs called the Shelby Super Snake Bold Edition.

The 2020 Bold Editon will be a minimal run of only 30 units, and they are intended to celebrate the three most prolific colors offered in 1970 Shelby cars. The three colors will include shadow black with green stripes and green interior accents, green lime with black stripes and green interior accents, and orange with black stripes.

Other than the bright colors, the cars are all production Super Snake underneath. Shelby will build the Bold Edition Super Snake on the coupe or convertible base cars. Both the 6-speed manual and the 10-speed automatic are available. Shelby says that a limited number of cars will be built by select Shelby mod shops and distributors internationally. It’s unclear if those will be part of the 30 produced or in addition to.

The official debut for the Super Snake Bold Edition will be at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale in January 2020. For those unfamiliar with the Super Snake, the car has a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with an optional supercharger strapped on to that gives the car 800 horsepower. Options include Shelby by Penske Suspension with coilovers front and rear. An optional camber kit is available. There are lots of styling mods on the body, along with custom wheels and tires. We like orange with black stripes the best, how about you? Those wanting a bit more utility with their Super Snake can check out the F-150 Super Snake that is going into production.
