Love or hate Simon Cowell of American Idol fame; he has a cool Bronco. This 1977 Ford Bronco is a custom ride that Cowell is selling. The SUV is being sent to auction at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. The 1977 Ford Bronco is black on black with shiny black paint over a black interior with black wheels to boot. It’s a very nice looking truck.
The Bronco is said to have the right equipment to be enjoyed on the street or off-road. It has a Ford Racing 302 cubic-inch V8 crate engine that makes 340 horsepower. It’s fitted with a Holley Avenger 4-barrel carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, electric distributor, and ceramic coated headers. The exhaust is a 2.5-inch MagnaFlow setup.
Keeping the Bronco cool in traffic or off-roading is an aluminum radiator. All the power the V8 makes goes to the wheels via a Ford C4 automatic transmission. A lifted suspension system gives the truck clearance for BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires on black XD series wheels. James Duff springs lift the Bronco to fit the wheels, and the SUV is equipped with Wilwood brakes all around.
Seats are custom black leather, and the truck has a leather-wrapped roll bar. Black Line-X coats the floors. Tunes are handled via a Pioneer head unit with custom speakers. Cowell is running the car through the auction at no reserve. Well restored Broncos like this are commanding big money of late. The fact that this one had a celebrity owner might add to the value for some. Cowell isn’t exactly a major celebrity, so the truck may go on what it’s worth alone. The Bronco is lot 1025.3. We rather like Broncos of this vintage in baby blue.
