Another Ford F-150 recall has been issued following one last month that had to do with an improperly secured battery terminal fastener. The latest recall was issued due to potential spare tire bead damage on select 2020 Ford F-150 trucks.
The Defect: in some vehicles, the spare tire bead may have been damaged when it was mounted to the wheel assembly.
The hazards: cuts or tears in the bead can potentially damage the bead wire leading to corrosion over time. Bead-wire corrosion can lead to separation of the wire resulting in a blow-out.
Affected components: spare tire
Affected vehicles: the Ford F-150 recall impacts the 2020 Ford F-150 that was built at the Dearborn Truck Plant from November 10th through November 21st, 2019.
Number of vehicles affected: the recall covers 33 vehicles in the U.S. and 51 in Canada.
The Fix: dealers will replace the spare tire in impacted vehicles
Owners should: contact their local dealer or Ford customer service.
