The Ford F-100 is a classic truck, and many of them are restored to original condition or turned into lowered, custom hot rods. Pickups Limited lays claim to the title of being the oldest Ford F-100 club still going, and it is hosting its 12th annual Jeff’s Fun Run.
The event is held annually to celebrate the life of a man called Jeff Hornsby, who was a member of the club in Orange County, California until he passed away from lung cancer over a decade ago. While Pickups Limited prefers the Ford F-100, they allow anyone in any make or model to participate in the event. The club notes they have had people fly in for the event and drive a rental car.
The run is a driving event that will last about three hours. Each participant will get a route sheet to direct them to businesses and shops in the area. Each location gives the driver a ticket that is numbered and turned in for a chance to win a 55-inch TV in a raffle at the end of the day. The event will also have a 50/50 drawing and a raffle prize table.
The event starts at Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park, CA, at 8 am on January 18th, 2020. It ends at The Orange County Market Place. Those registered by December 27th will get a free T-shirt. Registrations received after that will have to buy a shirt at the event. All proceeds from the event will benefit prostate cancer research, register here. Check out this restored 1964 Ford F-100 4×4.
