Anyone who has shopped for a classic car knows if you look for one of the typical classic Ford vehicles, like the Mustang, of the early 60s vintage, you pay a fortune for the cars. Some of the other Ford classics are still decently affordable, such as the 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner Convertible seen here. This beautiful car appears to be pretty much perfect, complete with a tri-tone interior consisting of red, maroon, and white.
The carpet and full interior look perfect, and the car has a black power soft convertible top that appears in excellent condition. The body is coated in Raven Black paint and looks as if it could be original. The 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner Convertible has power drum brakes front and rear along with a rebuilt 390 cubic-inch big-block V8.
That 390 cubic-inch engine is paired up with a four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. All the trim pieces are there and are shiny and clean. A stock AM radio still sits in the dash, and overall, the car looks highly original. When the motor was rebuilt last year, the builder did do a few basic power modifications. The car now has a Quick Fuel four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. A dual exhaust system was also added during the rebuild. The automatic overdrive transmission isn’t stock, and the car comes with receipts from the work and restoration.
One of the best things about this particular car is that it’s priced at $24,995. We’ve seen several very clean and original Ford Galaxie cars recently, one of our favorites was the 1964 in peacock blue.
