Christina Bale is a fantastic actor who has been in some huge movies, including the Dark Knight trilogy as Batman. Bale’s most recent role had him playing Ken Miles in the popular and well-reviewed Ford v Ferrari. The film has grossed over $200 million globally and is a strong contender for awards. Both Bale and Matt Damon have been tipped to be pushed by the studio for a possible Best Actor award nominations at the Oscars.
Of the two of them, Bale is seen as the more likely to win the Best Actor nomination, but the competition is stiff this year. Some see Bale as underestimated for the nomination this year. He has been nominated four times in the last decade, with only one win. Bale won his first Oscar nomination for “The Fighter” in 2010. He won Best Supporting Actor for that film.
He had a Best Actor nomination for “American Hustle” in 2013 and another Best Supporting Actor nomination for “The Big Short” in 2015. He had another Best Actor Nomination for “Vice” in 2018. Bale tends to do well with roles based on real people; all of his nominations and his one win have become for that type of role.
Based on predictions from Gold Derby, Bale is ranked in eight of ten to get a nomination for his turn as Ken Miles. Bale is predicted to get the Oscar nomination. Bale has already landed nominations for his work on the film at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards. It would be great to see the actor win awards and the film itself win some big awards. Having the movie win awards would hopefully show the studios that critics and fans like that sort of movie, and we could get more films in the genre.
