Something very cool has turned up on Facebook that has us curious. An unknown company called Kantep Imported Car Accessories has images of a black Ford Ranger pickup on its Facebook page that is wearing a body kit that makes it look nearly identical to the F-150 Raptor. The parts look to be very high quality, and the fit and finish appears quite nice.
Kantep offers no indication of if it’s building these parts in-house or sourcing them from another location. It also offers no indication of how much the parts might for the Ranger Raptor conversion cost. All the company says is that the parts are for the Ranger, T6, T7, and T8. They ask on their Facebook page for those interested in the parts to PM.
There is a company out there who’s offering to convert Ford Ranger pickups over to the Ranger Raptor that’s available in Europe using OEM panels. We honestly like the looks of the Kantep body parts better. The conversion using factory Ranger Raptor parts is done by PaxPower, and the components are applied to a standard Ford Ranger pickup available stateside.
PaxPower’s conversion is complex, requiring the entire front clip to be replaced, and the bed had to be rebuilt. The only outside part of the vehicle left untouched was said to be the stock Lariat LED headlights. The company announced when it unveiled the truck that a complete conversion, including a recalibrated engine for more power, costs about $65,000. PaxPower says that high cost is due to having to source the body panels from Europe. We continue to hope that Ford will eventually offer the Ranger Raptor as an off-the-shelf option in the United States.
