When it comes to racing in the Australian Supercars series, the car to beat for 2020 is definitely the Ford Mustang. Multiple teams are fielding the Ford Mustang in the 2020 Supercars series. The gang from Tickford Racing has unveiled its Tickford Racing Ford Mustang for the 2020 season. The car has a predominantly gray and orange livery.
The Tickford Racing Ford Mustang has all new sponsors for 2020 with last year’s main sponsor, The Bottle-O, separating from the team and being replaced by Truck Assist. Also sponsoring the team for the 2020 season is Isuzu Trucks, with its logo on the hood, guards, and bumpers. The driver for the vehicle will be Lee Holdsworth, and he says that he is “absolutely pumped” to get the 2020 season started.
Holdsworth also says that he “can’t wait” to get the Truck Assist Ford Mustang on the track. He says if the car drives half as well as it looks, the team will be in for a good year. The 2020 season is a big year for the Supercars series, with Nissan no longer participating. Many are also wondering what will happen to teams fielding Holden race cars in the series with GM announcing this week that it is shuttering the plant and ceasing operations.
Much of the extended testing for the 2020 series was an attempt to give Holden and other participants a chance to win. It’s unclear at this point if Holden will stop its Supercars program since the brand has been discontinued, but the assumption is it will. Multiple race teams have been showing off their cars for the 2020 season. Last week we saw the 23Red Mustang wearing a cool red and black livery and celebrating sponsor Milwaukee Tools.
