1999 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT With 822 Miles Is A Time Capsule

Mustang fans will want to check out this extremely clean 1999 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT that is for sale with Gateway Classic Cars. This car isn’t the most desirable of Cobra Mustangs, but it was the car that Mustang fans wanted in 1999. The 1999 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT is a three-owner car and is bone stock save for some white stripes added that we would call Super Snake stripes today.

It’s interesting that despite having three owners, the car only has 822 original miles on it. The car isn’t to be confused with the highly desirable 2003 and 2004 Cobra SVT mustangs that have a supercharged V-8 under the hood. The ’99 Cobra uses a dual overhead cam 32-valve 4.6-liter V-8 engine that makes 320 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque.

That amount of power seems very modest today, but in 1999 it was an extremely powerful car. The V-8 engine is backed up by five-speed manual transmission. The exterior color is Rio Red, and inside the vehicle has a medium parchment interior, which most people would just call beige. The car rolls on 17-inch SVT wheels with silver finish and the tires appear to be in good shape.

The interior is in excellent condition with the headliner still in place and immaculate seats and carpet with no tears or damage. This car is in exactly the condition you would expect with only 800 miles on the odometer. Cobra cars of the era had white-faced gauges inside, and this one has an AM/FM stereo with a cassette player and CD player. Other features include power steering, power locks, power seats, power windows, anti-lock brakes, and factory anti-theft system. The seller is asking $31,500, and we’re not entirely convinced the market is there for the car at that price. For comparison, we talked about an extremely clean 2004 Cobra earlier this year, with only a little more than 6000 miles on the odometer for $34,995.

  1. I think this looks much nicer and more eye-catching than the 2004 Cobra you had a link to.
This could be worth close to 30K for the right buyer
