The last time the Ford F-150 was completely overhauled (redesigned and re-engineered) was for the 2015 model year, which saw the arrival of the aluminum-alloy body, considerable weight savings, and various new features, creature comforts and increases in capability. But now, the current, 13th-generation F-150 is in its sixth year on the market (for the 2020 model year), and it’s starting to show its age. Luckily, an all-new F-150 is on its way for 2021, but before we see the overhauled 14th-gen model, we’re getting the final model year of the current model gets a few updates and changes.
Ford Authority has compiled all the changes and updates to FoMoCo’s bread-and-butter pickup truck for the 2020 model year.
Model Line
The model line for the 2020 Ford F-150 remains the same as before, with XL being the base model, followed by XLT, Lariat, and King Ranch in the middle of the line. Platinum, Limited, and Raptor continue to top out the range.
Mechanical
Mechanically, there are no changes to the 2020 F-150, with the powertrain lineup consisting of six engines, five of which drink gasoline while one sips diesel. Six- and ten-speed automatic transmissions continue to be on offer.

Exterior
The only changes to the exterior of the 2020 Ford F-150 is the replacement of three existing colors with three new ones, as follows:

Interior
No changes are taking place inside the 2020 F-150, but there are changes to the driver assist tech.
Driver Assist Technology
The 2020 Ford F-150 makes the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of active safety technologies standard on Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited. Ford Co-Pilot 360 includes the following features:
- Auto high-beam headlamps
- BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Monitoring
- Lane-Keeping System:
- Lane-Keeping Aid
- Lane-Keeping Alert
- Driver Alert
- Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB):
- Pedestrian Detection
- Forward Collision Warning
- Dynamic Brake Support

Meanwhile, Platinum and Limited models get the Ford Co-Pilot360 Assist, which includes:
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go
- Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System with Pinch-to-Zoom Capability
- SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link
- Includes five-year prepaid subscription
- Not available in Alaska or Hawaii
