3M Talks About Its Team Up With Ford To Fight The Coronavirus

Ford announced that it was teaming up with 3M and GE healthcare on medical supplies and equipment to help fight the coronavirus. One of the partners Ford is working with is 3M Company, and it has talked about what it and Ford will be working on. The key partnership with Ford and 3M will be for Powered Air Purifying Respirators or PAPRs. 3M says that it and Ford are both working together to combine their complementary capabilities and resources to cater to the increased global demand for personal protective equipment due to the coronavirus.

Just as Ford mentioned, 3M says what the automaker is working on is the PAPR that incorporates a waist-mounted, battery-powered blower that helps direct filtered air to the hood. Ford stated earlier this week that it was looking at the feasibility of using fan assemblies typically used in the F-150 cooled seats in the respirators.
