Competitive Sales Comparison

Ford Transit Connect sales continued to impress during the fourth quarter of 2019, posting a growth rate of over 17 percent. The performance enabled the Transit Connect to remain the best-selling model in its segment, outselling the Ram ProMaster City and Nissan NV200 by healthy margins – more two-fold when compared to the Nissan and more than three-fold when compared to the Ram.

Additionally, the 17 percent growth rate in Transit Connect sales saw the biggest increase in sales volume during the quarter, with the Nissan NV200 posting the second-highest growth rate of about 6 percent while the Ram ProMaster City saw a decrease of 31 percent.

The Ford Authority Take

The numbers speak for themselves: the Ford Transit Connect continued to dominate its segment during the fourth quarter just as it during the 2019 calendar year. We expect this trend to continue well into 2020 as a result of a very attractive product offering that’s highly competitive and extremely well-positioned. In addition, the discounts Ford has been offering on the Transit Connect also make it an appealing proposition.

Going forward, we imagine that Ford will continue to invest in such vehicles and maintain its footing in this segment. Specifically, Ford has updated the 2020 Transit Connect with new features such as the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver assistance suite. In addition, The Blue Oval even introduced a Transit Connect Sport to the lineup, however, it has only been announced for European markets, and not yet for North America.
