We’ve seen images of 2021 Ford F-150 pickup test mules running around in testing several times. Most recently was earlier this month when some pictures showed up that gave us a glimpse at the new grille and headlight look. The gang over at F150gen14 forums took what you could make out in those test mule photos and worked up some renderings of what they think the truck may look like uncovered.
The renderings certainly show an evolutionary design rather than a revolutionary design. Anyone who expected Ford to significantly depart from the formula that has made the F-150th best-selling vehicle in the country for decades was wrong. The rendering shows a 2021 F-150 pickup that looks very much like the current truck but with a freshened front end.
The new grille and headlights are very attractive, and we particularly like the running lights that run across the top and side of the headlight itself. The renderings are shown in multiple colors, and the dark green version of the standard pickup is our favorite. Renderings offered of the 2022 F-150 electric truck look essentially the same, but with a different grille as you would expect on an electric vehicle that needs no cooling upfront.
We are particularly enamored with the renderings that show what the 2022 F-150 Raptor might look like. The new headlights look particularly appealing on a much more aggressive and off-road-focused pickup. We’d prefer to have ours in the yellow color seen in the renderings; the truck looks fantastic. Before the coronavirus swept the country and fouled up the automotive industry, the all-new 2021 F-150 was expected to launch on April 29th, Ford has delayed its high-profile launches.
