Competitive Sales Comparison
Ford Ranger sales totaled 20,980 units in the United States market during Q1 2020, placing the vehicle into third place in its competitive set by sales volume – well behind the Toyota Tacoma but only 450 units behind the Chevrolet Colorado. The Ranger outsold all other segment contenders, including the Jeep Gladiator, Nissan Frontier and GMC Canyon, by a significant margin.
It’s worth noting that, despite the Ranger’s quick rise to third place in the sales charts, it still lags behind the segment-leading Toyota Tacoma from a sales volume standpoint significantly, with the Japanese pickup selling more than twice as many units than Ford’s offering.

The Ford Authority Take
Ford Ranger sales continued to gain significant momentum in Q1 2020, catching up to the Chevrolet Colorado. We believe that increased availability and an attractive product offering are the main factors contributing to the Ranger’s healthy jump in sales volume during the quarter.
That said, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a harsh blow to the automotive industry. As such, we expect Ford Ranger sales volume to fall significantly in Q2 as a result of the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant, which builds the truck, being idled since March. The rest of the segment will likely experience similar drops as the Ranger. The good news is that Ford announced late last night that it will resume production on May 18th.

The Fusion was selling 250 000 units per year when Ford geniuses decoded to cancel it rather than compete. I will never buy an SUV, CUV. statiln wagon. Hello foreign competition.
The fusion hasn’t sold 250k units since 2016, that’s a long time ago. Also, there’s no profit in it. Also the entire segment is shrinking. Also why are you comparing a pickup with a sedan? You ok?
Because we’re talking numbers, genius. Plus I am sure it was profitable
You haven’t learned about lies from the big shots? All these other companies are raking in dough from cars., and Ford couldn’t or didn’t. They can make money from cheap Rangers,, and a cheaper trucklet to come? Then they needed better negotiators for their supply line.
