When the 2020 Lincoln Aviator launched, it did so with 12 exterior color options for buyers to choose from. But now, dealer sources tell Ford Authority that three of those original color options are no longer available to order. The three Lincoln Aviator colors that have been dropped are Crystal Copper Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Blue Diamond Metallic, and Magnetic Gray Metallic. Each of those colors was available with all interior color combos.
That leaves 2020 Lincoln Aviator buyers with nine exterior color options: Iced Mocha Metallic Premium Colorant, Pristine White Metallic Tri-Coat, Red Carpet Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Ceramic Pearl Metallic Tri-Coat, Silver Radiance Metallic, Burgundy Velvet Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Infinite Black Metallic, Flight Blue Clearcoat (Black Label only), and Chroma Caviar Dark Gray (Black Label only).
However, we expect a few new colors for the 2021 model year, which will go into production in Q3 2020. Meanwhile, the Aviator continues to gain in the sales ranks. The three-row luxury crossover SUV recorded its first-ever first quarter deliveries in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and South Korea in Q1 2020, yet it managed its second-best quarterly sales performance since launching in the U.S. market, with a total of 5,666 units delivered.
That Lincoln Aviator sales performance places it in eighth place out of ten rivals in its segment, with a 7 percent market share. The BMW X5 and X6 duo currently lead the segment, followed by the Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class.
The Aviator replaced the Lincoln MKT when it arrived for the 2020 model year. It competes in the luxury crossover E-Segment with the Cadillac XT6, Lexus RX L, Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, BMW X5, Audi Q7, Maserati Levante, Acura MDX, and Infiniti QX60.
In its short time on sale, the Aviator has won numerous awards, including the MAMA Luxury Family Vehicle of the Year, along with earning a spot on Wards 10 Best Interiors List for 2020.
We’ll have more on the Aviator very soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Lincoln news, Lincoln Aviator news, and non-stop Ford news coverage.
