To date, we’ve seen plenty of spy shots of the 2021 Ford F-150, but most of those have been exterior photos. The few interior shots we’ve seen have shown us quite a few interesting details, including a new, larger infotainment screen and stow-away shifter, plus digital instrument cluster. But now, our spies have captured several images showing the 2021 F-150 Platinum interior in great detail.
As we’d expect, the 2021 F-150 Platinum interior features a host of premium materials befitting its status as the second most luxurious trim level available on Ford’s perennial best-selling pickup. That includes some very attractive grey wood trim on the dash (and we imagine in other areas, as well), which nicely complements the interior’s modern look and feel.
The steering wheel has a nice piece of chrome trim below the horn that reads “Platinum” as well, and it, along with many other trim pieces like the instrument cluster surround, are adorned in tasteful chrome. The steering wheel appears to have a new button design, while also sporting piano black accents, which is a nice luxurious touch.
Speaking of the instrument cluster, the all-digital units is very appealing, with sharp, high definition graphics. The display itself is clearly customizable, which is one of the nicer benefits of a completely digital instrument panel.
Moving to the center console, we can see that truly large screen – as first reported by Ford Authority two years ago – with the latest version of the Ford SYNC infotainment system. There are also some nice knobby dials and controls that, like the current F-150, should be easy to manipulate even while wearing gloves. Driver and passenger temperature readouts are displayed within the dials, which is a nice new touch.
Though the 2021 Ford F-150 interior is largely evolutionary rather than revolutionary, it certainly looks like a nice place to be. Owners will undoubtedly welcome the many modern updates, which will also help the new F-150 better compete with the new Ram – a truck praised for its cabin.
While we don’t see the rest of the 2021 F-150 Platinum interior, we’re certain that it will continue in the footsteps of the current model, offering unique leather seating appointments and other high-end accents and features.
We won’t have to wait long to see the entire thing, as the 2021 Ford F-150 is scheduled to make its debut on June 25th. Along with a newly revised interior and exterior design, the 14th generation pickup is also expected to have various other new features including an onboard power generator and over-the-air update capability, and potentially a multi-function tailgate.
The first 2021 F-150s are set to begin rolling off the line at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant on October 12th and at the Ford Kansas City Assembly plant on November 9th, dates that were essentially confirmed via a recently leaked summer shutdown schedule. Ford also officially stated the week prior that the new Ford F-150 was still on track for a fall release.
We’ll have more on the new F-150 very soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, and continuous Ford news coverage.

With all that LCD real estate above the steering wheel, let’s make sure we show both a clock and exterior temp please—At all times! Such a miss with the current gen model when using CarPlay.
