Ford Motor Company Korea Sales Increase 1 Percent In April 2020

Ford Motor Company Korea sales increased 1 percent to 838 units in April 2020 compared to April 2019 results. Sales decreased at the Ford brand, while increasing at Lincoln.

Brand & Model Sales

Ford sales decreased 5 percent to 631 units:

Ford Explorer sales decreased 3.01 percent to 548 units
Ford Mondeo sales totaled 16 units
Ford Mustang sales decreased 32.32 percent to 67 units
The Ford Taurus has been discontinued in South Korea

Lincoln sales increased 22 percent to 207 units:

Lincoln Aviator sales totaled 50 units
Lincoln Continental sales were flat at 37 units
Lincoln Corsair sales totaled 7 units
Lincoln MKZ sales decreased 60.19 percent to 41 units
Lincoln Nautilus sales totaled 72 units
Lincoln does not market the Navigator in South Korea

During the first four months of the 2020 calendar year, Ford Motor Company Korea sales increased 5 percent to 3,136 units.

The Ford Authority Take

Ford Motor Company Korea sales increased slightly in April, the second full month of stay-at-home orders as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Asian country. The positive result was entirely driven by the better-than-expected commercial performance of the Lincoln brand, which achieved a notable increase in sales year-over-year.

Meanwhile, FoMoCo’s namesake Ford brand suffered a decline in April sales volume. Despite the Explorer’s recovery compared to recent months, both the three-row crossover SUV as well as the Mustang muscle car delivered fewer units than in April 2019. The Mondeo, reintroduced a few months ago, maintained a stable sales level.
