Full 2021 Super Duty Production And Ordering Details Outline Important Dates

The Ford Super Duty received a host of welcome updates for the 2020 model year. Including things like the new and excellent Ford 7.3L Godzilla V8, a whopping 1,050 pound-feet of torque from its revised 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel, a 10-speed automatic transmission, updated styling, and the addition of the all-new Tremor package. As such, we don’t expect too many changes to the 2021 Super Duty, but now we know all the important dates related to the upcoming model year.

Sources familiar with production plans tell Ford Authority that the last day to order the current 2020 Super Duty is July 10th, and the last day to change orders is August 13th. Production will then end for the 2020 model year on November 1st at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, followed by the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant on November 6th.

For those looking to secure their new heavy-duty pickup, the order banks for the 2021 Super Duty are scheduled to open up on August 17th. Production of the new Super Duty will then begin at the Kentucky Truck Plant on November 2nd, and at the Ohio Assembly Plant on November 9th.

Ford Super Duty 2020–2021 Production Changeover
Activity: 2020 – Last Day To Order 2020 – Last Day To Change Order 2020 – Last Day Of Production 2021 – Orders Open 2021 – Production Begins
Kentucky Truck Plant: July 10, 2020 August 13, 2020 November 1, 2020 August 17, 2020 November 2, 2020
Ohio Assembly Plant: July 10, 2020 August 13, 2020 November 6, 2020 August 17, 2020 November 9, 2020

As far as what to actually expect from the 2021 Super Duty, well, it probably won’t be much. Ford will likely add a little power and payload/towing capacity to its venerable pickups to keep it ahead of the competition, and perhaps a new feature here or there. But we can expect much bigger things in the coming years.

The all-new 2021 Ford F-150 debuts on June 25th and goes on sale later this year, which means that the Super Duty will likely undergo its own complete overhaul in the near future, as has been the case in the past. Like the new F-150, that will likely include all-new body panels with fresh styling and a major interior upgrade, among other changes.

Update: Ford has made a few changes to the ordering and production timetables. The new dates can be accessed here.
