It’s not exactly a secret that the Ford Ranger Raptor isn’t available here in America, something about which many have expressed frustration. Luckily, there are plenty of aftermarket alternatives, giving Ranger owners the option to build their own. And since both the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ranger Raptor famously run Fox shocks, this new suspension kit from Roush Performance is bound to be a hit.
The Roush Performance Fox suspension kit fits 2019-2020 North American Ford Ranger models and consists of new coilovers for the front and shocks for the rear, along with two Fox mud guards for added protection. The kit also comes preset with two-inches of lift for the front, which effectively levels the truck front-to-back, though it’s also adjustable anywhere from 0-2 inches of lift.
The extra clearance up front allows Ranger owners to run larger wheels and tires, which is always a good thing. But the shocks and coilovers themselves are high quality pieces, too. The rear shocks are constructed from CNC-machined 6061-T6 billet aluminum, while the front coilovers consist of nitrogen-charged aluminum body shocks and tuned performance springs.
In addition, the aluminum shock body is rust-proof and increases cooling capacity, while the upper mount has a bushing to reduce noise and vibration.
The engineering of this Roush Performance suspension kit has been validated for the tuner’s Ranger truck program and is designed to improve off-road stability and performance. All of these parts also bolt-on directly to stock Rangers, with no modifications required like cutting, welding, or beating intruding parts out of the way for clearance. Roush Performance says that the installation takes about four hours and can be completed with basic tools.
For those looking to give their Ford Ranger a little more performance, better (more level) looks, larger wheels and tires, or just make it a bit more like the Ranger Raptor, this new Roush Performance suspension kit looks like a great option.
