Those seeking a customized Ford F-150 have many options to choose from. Saleen, Shelby, Roush, and a handful of other tuners all build and sell turnkey trucks with a plethora of suspension, styling, and performance upgrades. It’s a crowded market indeed, but the Roush F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition stands out for a variety of reasons.
The most obvious of which is the truck’s stealthy, “tactical” styling. 5.11 is a large producer of tactical clothing for military, law enforcement, and public safety personnel, so it only makes sense that a truck bearing its name would sport the same sort of style. The interior features a fair host of additions as well, including a custom gauge cluster, Roush Weathertech floor liners, premium leather featuring U.S. flag embroidery, a console vault, and serialized interior badging exclusive to the 5.11 Tactical Edition.
A truck that looks this cool can’t just run a stock engine, and the 5.11 Tactical Edition certainly does not. The 5.0L Coyote V8 has been treated to a Roush TVS R2650 supercharger, which boosts output to 650 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. Roush’s active dual exhaust also comes standard, so the owner can choose just how loud they want the truck to be at any given time.
If all of that isn’t enough, this special Roush comes with an exclusive 5.11 Tactical Gear kit, which includes a serialized certificate of authenticity, custom 5.11 Tactical hard case with foam insert holding an LE EMT Multi-Tool, spare Roush key fob, custom tactical pen, multi-tool money clip, tactical duffel bag featuring Roush and 5.11 Tactical branding, a range hat, and a USA flag patch.
It’s simply the most tactical truck around – one that goes as good as it looks. The Roush F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition starts out at $31,000 plus the cost of the donor F-150, but comes with a 3 year, 36,000 mile limited warranty for a little extra peace of mind.
