The 2021 Ford F-150 is an all-new vehicle representing the 14th generation of Ford’s perennially best-selling pickup. And the truck is packed with cool new tech and convenience items, including a first-ever PowerBoost Hybrid powertrain, feature-rich tailgate, Trailer Reverse Guidance, new radio and Wi-Fi antennas, cylinder deactivation technology, and even some cool Easter eggs. And that’s what truly sets the new truck apart from the old one – the abundance of new and innovative F-150 features.
And for those that want to see all these nifty F-150 features in action, Ford has put together a nice video demonstrating all of them. It all starts with the new all-digital and fully customizable instrument panel, which features some truly sharp graphics and a wide array of colors.
Then, we move on to the biggest (literally) change inside the new F-150 – its 12 inch infotainment screen, which is standard equipment on the XLT and above. Users are able to split the screen and control multiple functions simultaneously, including navigation, music, and truck features. Here, we see the driver controlling their music selection while also using the navigation system.
Next up are the Max Recline Seats, which are available on King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models. These fold flat to nearly 180 degrees, with the bottom cushion rising to meet the back cushion and the upper back support rotating forward up to 10 degrees for maximum comfort.
Next, we see the stowable shift knob and optional Interior Work Surface that includes a fold-flat console to make room for a 15 inch laptop or anything else that can fit there. Under the back seat, we find a large lockable storage area that extends the width of the rear seats.
Moving outside the truck, we see the all new full-length extended power running boards with a kick switch in use, as well as the truck’s new tailgate with a bevy of features including tie-down locations, clamp pockets, and an available Tailgate Work Surface that includes integrated rulers, a mobile device holder, cupholder, and pencil holder. Pro Power Onboard provides portable generator levels of power, while exterior zone lighting can be controlled via the FordPass mobile app.
While we’ve seen pictures of these features already, it’s nice to see them all in action. And we can’t wait to actually put our hands on all this cool new kit, too.
We’ll have much more on the new F-150 soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford F-Series news, Ford F-150 news, and continuous Ford news coverage.
