The Ford GT is already a relatively rare and special machine that few will ever be lucky enough to own. But for those that still think that The Blue Oval’s supercar is too “common,” the 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection promises to provide a bit more exclusivity and uniqueness. In fact, Ford is only going to offer 40 of them across the 2021 and 2022 model years, making this a surefire future collectible.
The 2021 Ford GT Studio Collection is an all-new graphics package with customizable colors that highlight key styling elements, including the car’s functional cooling ducts. The unique exterior graphics package was born of a design collaboration between Ford Performance and Ford GT manufacturer Multimatic.
Much of that input came from Garen Nicoghosian, Multimatic design head, who has worked on the Ford GT program since its genesis. “The combination of the stripes and accents invokes the emotion of speed and draws your eye to some of the most prominent features of the GT,” Nicoghosian explained. “The fuselage, buttresses and signature features on the headlights provide visual anchors for the graphics, guiding your eye across the vehicle.”
The body and graphics of the 2021 Ford GT Studio Edition can be customized with seven standard colors, or further personalized with an extended palette offering endless color combinations for even greater exclusivity. The beauty of this package is that owners are virtually guaranteed to have a proper one-of-one, a privilege other supercar manufacturers offer on their own high-end performance vehicles.
The Studio Edition joins another brand new Ford GT variant for the 2021 model year – the Heritage Edition, which celebrates the automaker’s very first 24 hour endurance win that led to its dominance at Le Mans.
Deliveries of the 2021 model year Ford GT begin in early 2021, with Ford GT production wrapping up in 2022.
