The Ford Authority Take

Ford Argentina sales decreased significantly in July, the seventh consecutive month of double-digit declines for FoMoCo in the South American country. After significant volume recovery in June, Ford saw an increased rate of contraction in Argentina as a result of commerce restrictions caused by local outbreaks of COVID-19.

Only three low-volume Ford models managed to increase sales in July – the Kuga, Mondeo and Transit. Those gains were made as a result of significant discounts to reduce inventory levels caused by the pandemic.

In addition to the discontinued Fiesta and Focus, models that saw significant volume contractions on a year-over-year basis were the Ka (down 59 percent) and EcoSport (down 49 percent). Meanwhile, the Ford Ranger continued as the brand’s best-selling model in Argentina for the third consecutive month.
